Fathers Day June 15th!
This year give him something that’s good for him – a box of chocolates! Our dark chocolates are loaded with antioxidants and flavinols to help keep his heart healthy and with flavors like bourbon, scotch, and coconut curry, his mouth will be happy, too!
What’s New at Rose’s
Rose’s chocolate Treasures is offering a chocolate of the month! Each month we will have a new flavored bonbon for you to fall in love with. To start off, we’ve perfected a beautiful banana ganaches and hand piped it into a shell of our delicious dark chocolate. Oh baby.
As we continue with the chocolate of the month, all you chocolate lovers are welcome to share your chocolate fantasies with us. If you’ve had something extravagant on your mind, like acia berries with white pepper… or just a classic like butterscotch and dark chocolate, let us know and we’ll try to make your chocolate dreams come true.
Fresh Ice Cream
You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream and not ice milk or frozen yogurt. Rose’s hand made ice cream is the real thing. Praised by the food critic at the Seattle Post Intelligencer as one of the top 25 things not to miss in Pike Place Market, our ice cream is smooth, creamy and luscious. For you chocolate lovers we’ve made our Dark Chocolate Mexicali into ice cream, and for a lighter variety; we’ve made a delightful Vanilla Bean. Come in and get it while it’s fresh!
Berry Season
We’re still busy with berry season here at Rose’s Chocolate Treasures. As most of the berries fall out of season mid July, you don’t want to miss out. Fresh chocolate covered strawberries, black berries and blueberries. Raspberries and cherries are still on their way, so come in and indulge in our seasonal classics.

Summer Time Chocolate
Summer is approaching and Seattle is finally starting to heat up (maybe..), a lot of concern comes up with having your chocolate and eating it too, without melting. As many of you may know, we do not make chocolate candies here at Rose’s Chocolate Treasures. We do make our chocolates with high quality cacao and we properly temper and handle our chocolates. The tempering process is the proper way to melt and work with chocolate, it can be very time consuming and tedious, but it makes all the difference. With that done, the melting point of our chocolates is 92°. Even at that temperature, it needs to be in direct heat to melt. If you’re taking chocolates away in one of our gold boxes, the bon bons will have enough air to circulate and will do just fine as long as you handle with care. Enjoy!
Semantics
What is a truffle, and what is a bonbon? The truffle is named a truffle because it is supposed to resemble the truffle that is a mushroom. The traditional make up of a truffle would be a ganaches (the soft center made with chocolate and cream), rolled into a ball, dipped in chocolate for the shell, and then rolled in a topping like chocolate shavings, coconut, cocoa powder, or even cacao nibs. Bon bon literally translates into good good, quite simply because these treats are so tasty once wasn’t good enough. Chocolate bonbons are made in a mold, and can be many different shapes and sizes, as you’ve seen in our case. Beware the Chocolatiers who call everything they make a truffle!
